Friends & Family Auto Update: Terms and Conditions
Conditions:
1. BT's Terms & Conditions for residential service apply.
2. You must be a BT Calling Plan, Home Highway with ICA or BT Together Local customer.
3. There is no minimum term of service for this product
4. Only one Friends & Family Auto Update can be provided on an account, regardless of the number of lines
5. You can change your BestFriend number once in any billing period
6. If you live in Northern Ireland you may nominate a Republic of Ireland number as your Best Friend number
About Friends & Family Auto Update
Friends & Family Auto Update gives you a 10% discount on the 5, 10 or 15 eligible numbers you have spent the most on - depending on your BT Calling Plan.
Friends & Family Auto Update is available at no extra cost to all BT Calling Plan, Home Highway with ICA and BT Together Local customers.

The Friends & Family Auto Update discount applies to direct dialled calls and direct dialled BT Chargecard calls. It is normally applied to the basic call price before any other discount is applied.
Activation of your Friends & Family Auto Update will take place 24 hours after you've signed up. Your next BT bill will show the call discounts from your old Friends & Family numbers, and the discounts from your new Friends & Family Auto Update numbers. Your future BT bills will only show your call discounts from your new Friends & Family Auto Update numbers.
If you are a Light User Scheme (LUS) customer who has been moved to Unlimited Weekend Plan, you will be automatically given the Friends & Family Auto Update associated with Unlimited Weekend Plan. Please see the table above to find out more about your Friends & Family Auto Update discount.
Excluded Calls
Certain numbers are excluded from Friends & Family Auto Update:
Most Number Translated Services numbers (e.g. numbers beginning 0845 and 0870) are excluded from both the Calling Circle and as BestFriend. Section 2 of the BT Price List gives details of the excluded numbers. Exceptionally, 0845 numbers are excluded from the Calling Circle but such numbers can be nominated as the Best Friend
- Operator Controlled calls
- BT Pay&Call Customers making calls via BT TextDirect ie 1800X
- CreditCall charges
- European Mobile Satellite System (Emsat) calls
- Thuraya calls
- BT Service Numbers (eg 150, 151)
- Inmarsat M4 High Speed Data calls
- ISDN2 and ISDN2e Calling Feature Facility fees e.g. Call Return Press 3 (1471 3).
Who can have Friends & Family Auto Update?
Friends & Family Auto Update is available to:
- Unlimited Weekend Plan customers
- Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan customers
- Unlimited Anytime Plan customers
- BT Together - Local customers
- Home Highway ICA option customers
Friends & Family Auto Update is not available to:
- Light User Scheme (LUS) customers
- In Contact Plus lines BT Pay & Call customers
- BT Working Together customers
- BT Working Together Talk customers
- Business customers Lines with ISDN2 and ISDN2e
- Lines with rented cardphones
- Lines with pay-on-answer coinboxes
- Temporary Service Lines Shared service lines
- Non metering linesn/ Outgoing Calls Barred lines
