| One-off payment |
You can make a one-off payment against your BT bill at any time. This could be useful if you are on a Monthly Payment Plan and want to take a payment holiday, or reduce the amount of your monthly payments. You can use a credit or debit card to make your one-off payment.

| One-off charge |

A one-off charge is a single payment you will need to make when you first buy certain products. For example, if you buy a new phone line, you will need to pay a one-off installation charge and then a monthly charge for your BT Together package.

| Online bill |
When you sign up to BT.com, you will receive an online bill as well as the BT bill you receive through the post. We'll send you an email alert to let you know that your bill is available to view online. Online bills give you the option to see all itemised call details and use graphs and charts to display your call information. You can also use the Address book to customise your bill - this means you'll see familiar names as well as numbers in the itemised summary. If you would like to stop receiving a paper bill and just view your bills online, you can choose to go paper-free. Find out more about Paper-free billing.

| Open fault |
A fault is still open, ie, in the active file, even after it has been repaired. We remove it from the active file when you let us know that you're satisfied or, if we haven't heard from you, 7 days after we've repaired the fault.

| Out of Service message |
We offer this facility free of charge. If people call when your phone isn't working, they'll receive a voice message that tells them your line has a fault, that the fault has been reported, and that repairs are underway.
