M

Megabit (M, Mb, Mbps)

A megabit (M, Mb, Mbps) is a measurement of "data rate" and is equal to one million bits every second. Mbps means Megabits per second. The speed of an Internet connection is measured in bits per second. This speed may also be represented as M or Mb.

Megabyte

Mb is short for Megabyte and this is a measurement for the amount of data that is transferred over your broadband connection. A Megabyte is a piece of data that contains 1,048,576 bytes of data. 1 megabyte (1Mb) = 1024 kilobytes.

Monthly Billing

Your whole bill will be generated on a monthly basis rather than one bill per quarter. This allows you to monitor your call spend more effectively. You can pay your monthly bill using a number of BT's payment options including Continuous Card Recurring Authority.

If you would like to change to monthly billing contact BT on 0800 800 150.

Monthly Payment Plan

BT's Monthly Payment Plan offers a convenient and safe way to pay your bill in set monthly amounts. We work out how much you pay each month by working out your bill for the last year and dividing it by 12. So, if your bills over the last 12 months add up to £240, you'll pay £20 a month. If you haven't been a BT customer for 12 months, we base your monthly payment on the bills you have had.

Monthly Payment Plan (MPP) settlement bill

This is a one-off bill that is issued if you cancel your Monthly Payment Plan but still have outstanding charges on your BT account.
