Fault

A fault is anything that physically reduces the quality of your phone connection below an acceptable level. It can cause noises on the line, a dead line, or the inability to make or receive calls.

Fault report number

This is a number that will be assigned to you once you've reported a fault. It's an easy way of keeping track of the problem. You'll need your fault number if you contact BT about the fault.

Fault status

This refers to where we are in the process of fixing your fault. When you report a fault the status becomes open. When you let us know that you're satisfied with the repair the status changes to closed. You can check the status of your fault using the track a fault facility.

Friends & Family

With Friends & Family you can nominate 10 numbers of your choice, which can be any combination of UK and mobile numbers, plus one international number. You'll receive 10% discount on any calls you make to these numbers. You can also nominate one of your UK or mobile numbers as your BestFriend and receive 20% discount on any calls you make to this number.

Friends & Family Overseas

With Friends & Family Overseas you can nominate 10 numbers of your choice, which can be any combination of UK and mobile numbers, plus one international number. You also get an additional 5 international numbers, making a total of 6 international numbers. You'll receive 10% discount on any calls you make to these numbers. You can also nominate one of your UK or mobile numbers as your BestFriend and receive 20% discount on any calls you make to this number.
