How to report a fault for someone else

Step 1

If a friend or one of your family members can't use their phone, or you suspect someone you're ringing has a fault on their line, you might want to report the fault for them. Our step-by-step guide helps you to report a phone line fault for someone else so we can put things right as quickly as possible.
Report and track a fault page
AYou'll find the main Faults reporting page in the Your account area.
BPlease have the person who appears to have the fault on their line check their phone equipment and connections. They might be able to fix it quicker than we can. Please note there may a charge if an engineer visits the property and finds something they could easily have fixed. For example, if the phone is broken or has been left unplugged.
CYou can only report landline phone faults on this page. If there's a problem with a broadband connection then you can find support here.
DIf you're trying to ring a friend or relative and you think that their phone line's faulty, here's where you can report the problem for them.
