1. What is BT SMS Self Service?

BT SMS Self Service is a new development from BT that allows customers to find out information regarding the status of faults or whether their latest payment has been received by using SMS text messaging.
 
2. Why is BT introducing BT SMS Self Service?

Text messaging is becoming increasingly popular for many day-to-day transactions. BT wants to provide a choice of methods for contacting us, and SMS text messaging provides a quick and convenient way for customers to get information, without having to wait for calls to be answered at busy periods, for example.
 
3. When is BT SMS Self Service available?

The BT SMS Self-service facility is being trialled between January and March 2006. We hope to make it a permanent service and add new features after this time.
 
4. How much does BT SMS Self Service cost?

When you send us a text message, you will be charged your normal rate for text messages by your mobile operator. BT will not charge you for sending you the reply.
 
5. Is this service available to BT business customers?

This service is intended for BT residential customers only at this time.
