Account Number: This is your BT account number. Use this when making any enquiry to BT about your account.

Bill number: Uniquely identifies your bill. Use this reference number when making enquiries about this bill.

Number: The telephone number that this bill relates to.

Bill date: The date that this bill was issued.

Total: The total amount on your account. If the words ‘Total now due appear by this total, then this is the amount that you owe to BT. If the words ‘Credit balance’ appear by this total, this indicates that your account is in credit and no payment is required.


Date: This shows the date for which charges/credits are applied.


Refund of charges: BT charges in advance for its products and services. This specific example indicates that a refund has been made for a service/product that has been cancelled for which you had previously paid in advance on a previous bill.

New charges: This specific example indicates when you took out the service/product with us and the charge is from that date until the date of this bill.

Charges in advance: BT charges in advance for its products and services. This is your rental for the service/product for the next billing period.
